Annanemone was founded by Anna Šebestová while she did her Masters in textile design in the UK. Anna creates patterns inspired by nature which you will not usually come across and she depicts them in a playful manner. Nature means endless inspiration for Anna. She has been fascinated by strange animals since childhood, had a soft spot for those others were repelled by and didn’t find them cute enough. Why shouldn’t there be slugs or prehistoric animals on fabrics instead of the omnipresent cats? Creating by hand is typical for annanemone- the beauty of asparagus, tapirs or insects is shown through the use of coloured pencils, ink or linocut. The small imperfections that appear during these processes remain and highlight the fact that you are looking at something handmade. The products are printed in the Czech Republic and sewn in a small studio in Prague.
